A waiting area with an electronic queue system has opened at the Benyakoni checkpoint

On October 26, 2021, a solemn ceremony was held to open the waiting area with an electronic queue system for entry to the Benyakoni international checkpoint.

The event was attended by the Assistant to the President of the Republic of Belarus – Inspector for the Grodno region Yuri Hadzhimuratovich Karaev, Chairman of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee Vladimir Stepanovich Karanik, Chairman of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Nikolaevich Orlovsky, Chairman of the State Border Committee of the Republic of Belarus Anatoly Petrovich Lappo, General Director of RUE "Beltamozhservice" Vadim Alexandrovich Babarikin, management of the Grodno regional Customs, Grodno branch of RUE "Beltamozhservice", Voronovsky district executive Committee, Lida Border Group.

The main objective of the project is to improve the procedure for passing vehicles across the state border, to create the most comfortable conditions for citizens to cross it, to solve issues of the ecological condition of roads and roadsides.

The project was implemented by the republican unitary enterprise "Beltamozhservice", the company's own funds were invested for the construction of the facility. In connection with the start of the waiting area, 21 workplaces have been created.

The electronic queue system is designed primarily to organize and streamline the order of border crossing, to exclude conflict situations that occur between persons crossing the customs border.

To implement the technological process of the Benyakoni waiting area, the software package of the electronic queue system was finalized, providing information interaction with the border service at the checkpoint.

The waiting area is equipped with modern equipment: barriers and cameras for automatic number reading, nine monochrome LED displays for posting information about vehicles called to the checkpoint. An additional one has also been introduced (in addition to displaying information on the scoreboard) the system notifies drivers about the call of a vehicle to the checkpoint by SMS notification or a call on a mobile phone. The service for booking the time of entry to the checkpoint has been launched. The interested person can book the time of entry on the website of RUE "Beltamozhservice" www.belarusborder.by , or at the operator of the waiting area, if there are free time intervals for booking.

In the waiting area, a store is open daily fr om 9.00 to 21.00, wh ere hot meals are organized, cozy areas for visitors to relax with free wi-fi, in the future it is planned to transfer the store to a round-the-clock mode.

The Benyakoni waiting area includes parking for trucks with 212 parking spaces, for passenger cars with 55 parking spaces, for buses with 5 parking spaces.

For a comfortable stay of drivers, the waiting area is equipped with a sanitary unit with showers, necessary equipment for washing and ironing.

The opening of the facility in Benyakoni is the second project of the Beltamozhservice enterprise to create a waiting area with an electronic queue system. In June 2021, a waiting area was opened with the possibility of electronic booking of places in the queue of vehicles and additional services at the Kamenny Log checkpoint.

RUE "Beltamozhservice" plans further investment in the creation of waiting areas with an electronic queue system.
