Millionth navigation seal used in Belarus

June 9th, Minsk /Corr. BELTA/. Belarus has used a millionth navigation seal to track international transit traffic. BelTA was informed about this by the State Customs Committee.

The jubilee seal for tracking international transit traffic was marked by a truck that arrived at the TLC "Kamenny Log-Beltamozhservice".

The agreement on the use of navigation seals for tracking traffic was adopted at the end of 2021 at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council. Back in 2020, the Belarusian customs began to apply them, without waiting for a decision within the framework of the EAEU. The national operator is RUE Beltamozhservice.

In Belarus, seals were previously used only against carriers for which there is evidence that they violate customs legislation. The scope of application was expanded in 2021. Now navigation seals are used to control the transportation of goods carried out within the framework of the transit-free technology. Seals can also act as means of identification, be an alternative to customs escort and in other cases provided for by the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of May 25, 2020 № 311.

Navigation seals are always applied to European trucks traveling from the territory of Lithuania, Poland and Latvia when transporting high-risk goods placed under the customs procedure of customs transit.

As noted in the department, today about 1.5 thousand seals are used every day. At the same time, responsible services control about 4 thousand vehicles with such devices.
