How it works?
Customs authorities perform a format-logical control of the received information and, if there are no errors, assign a unique identification number (EPI number) to the received information on transportation. In this case, the information previously submitted to the customs authorities is taken as the basis for forming an electronic form of the transit declaration.
After arriving at the customs clearance point of the Republic of Belarus, the carrier (forwarder) submits the necessary documents to the customs authority and also provides its EPI number.
Using the EPI number, the customs officer finds information on the goods being transported in the data base and compares it with the submitted documents. If there are no discrepancies and inaccuracies in the documents submitted by the carrier (forwarder) and the information received by the customs authority during preliminary electronic notification is ok, the customs officer releases the goods.
